Does anyone out there know the status of A&M's SD70ACe's that were damaged in Oct? Were they able to repair in house?

I *think* that they are all back in service, none had extremely serious damage. Where they were repaired? I don't know.

Thanks, NorthWest, from the news I could get, two were on their sides in a hard to access area. I think some of those locos were previously in my area (North Alabama) as EMD demos on a local short line.

The following linked picture is a photo from the 'Rail Pictures Site' of the Lead Engine A&M #70...The Caption reads in part: "... that the Damages will be repaired on #70 by the A&M's Springdale Shop Forces..."

Other pictures of the derailment site show the second unit derailed but upright on a sharp angle across the tracks to the left, as to the third unit, I have seen no pictures of it.

I think that the #70 Engine was the former 'Caterpillar decorated' engine that was on display at one time at a Mining Equipment Show in Las Vegas(?)
