<p><span style="font-family:verdana,geneva;font-size:small;">There have been a lot of analogies to explain reciprocal switching, and some very short definitions, but I am not sure I understand how this works in practice. </span></p> <p><span style="font-family:verdana,geneva;font-size:small;">Say a shipper is captive to one rail line (line A) between the shipper and a connection with another rail line (line B) ten miles away. Say the shipper feels his line A is overcharging him. </span></p> <p><span style="font-family:verdana,geneva;font-size:small;">What exactly does the shipper do to get a competitive price and service from line B for his shipping under the concept of reciprocal switching? </span></p>
