The Hoosier State train was traveling from Indianapolis with 56 passengers and three crew members when it hit the truck on a marked crossing around 7:45 a.m. Central time in White County, according to Amtrak spokesman Marc Magliari. Of the 24 injured, 16 were treated on the scene and released and eight were taken to the hospital and released later.

       It is amazing how a change in perspective can alter the feelings one has when you see photos of tis kind of incident.

       In the last 48 hours, I've had an old friend, and former co- worker of my son's, gradutws from AMTRACK Engineer School...  Anomity is one thing, the potential to see a friend in a collision... I just hope St. Florian will ride in the left hand seat of a diesel locomotive too....
