St. Paul Union Depot and North Star
Posted by NP Eddie on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 9:28 AM

I read the article about North Star commuter equipment at the St. Paul Union Depot.

Does anyone know if that train used the Amtrak route or the BNSF's Midway Sub directly to the SPUD?

Also did the BNSF's crews handle that train directly to SPUD?

My guess is that the BNSF crews worked into the SPUD via the Midway Sub.

Yes, the North Star commuter train used the Wayzata Sub. to Minneapolis Jct, then the Midway Sub to Seventh St. and then into SPUD.

Are you aware that BNSF is the contracted operator for the NorthStar serivce? Their crews are the same.
