But measuring the collective public knowledge of railroading strikes me as a question that could only be answered by surveying the public with a series of targeted questions. </span></p> <p><span style="font-family:verdana,geneva;font-size:small;">A survey of railfans on the question is guaranteed to indicate that the public knows almost nothing about railroads, even if that is not the case. </span></p>
