Well, that Michigan Central station IS in Detroit, which kind of says it all.

In a related vein the folks that publish "Weird New Jersey" magazine have a term for situations like this, they call it "Property Purgatory", meaning the buildings aren't alive, but they're not completely dead either.  They're just THERE, in some kind of netherworld between function and destruction. 

It IS sad, however.

Unfortunately, the legal limbo inhabited by any number of abandoned buildings (for a variety of reasons) is not that uncommon.  Some of these buildings may be worthy of preservation efforts, many are not.  Unfortunately, the preservation movement has in many instances been hijacked into blocking the demolition of virtually old building, including many that have no distinguishing characteristics.

The daily commute is part of everyday life but I get two rides a day out of it. Paul
