K. P. Harrier, Your pictures showing the progress on the double tracking of the Sunset route have been great.   Is the game plan to double track the Sunset route all the way from LAX to El Paso?  This question probably has been answered elsewhere, but I don't remember seeing it.   With the opening of the improved Panama Canal some of the container ships that drop their cargo in California will go through the canal to eastern ports, thereby taking some cross country traffic off the railroad.  What impact will this have on the UP and BNSF?  Presumably the UP has factored this into their planning and believe that the second track is still a must.
