Amtraks Acela is really a joke.

[/quote]</p> <p>I believe that it is approximately 457 rail miles from Washington (Union Station) to Boston (South Station), i.e. 225 miles from Washington to New York and 232 miles from New York (Penn Station) to Boston.</p>
