Three Rivers
Silver service trains
The Crescent
Cardinal
Heartland Flyer
Sunset Limited/Texas Eagle

Im curious have these routes shown any increase in ridership over the last year and are they worthy of keeping in the eyes of Amtrak? Also where can i get the ridership numbers on these trains. Im interested in seeing what routes serve the most.

The Silver Service, Cresent, and Heartland Flyer do well, the rest aren't doing quite as good, I'm sure they would never get rid of the Three Rivers since it is the only train besides ther Lake Shore that heads from NYC to Chicago.

I road the Texas Eagle last week round trip Chicago - San Antonio. The train was packed Chicago-Dallas and empty Dallas-San Antonio. It's a keeper.

They do, they must have just started running to NYC, never knew they did until I checked Amtraks website today.

I've heard the Cardinal and Sunset Limited aren't doing so well. Ridership on the Crescent was up 10.8% from April 2002 to April 2003. Haven't seen any new numbers for the past year yet.

I have had trouble getting reservations on the Crescent more than once because it was full each time! Finally rode it in a Viewliner sleeper even though it was only a short hop within Virginia during daylight.
