Know that TV train?

Remember that TV show from the 1980's I believe called In the heat of the night? I recently saw a rerun of that show and does anyone know what Amtrak train is featured in the beginning of that show? The show was filmed in Georgia i believe but took place in the town of Sparta Miss. My guess is that it was the crescent or a silver service train.

I hated that show. When i was little, and my grandfather babysitted me, he was always watching it. The amtrak shot was the only thing i liked

Hoootervile in upstate New York, Home of:

Mr Douglas, his wife Zha Zha, thier farmhand Zeb, and 40 acres of withering crops.

General Store owner Arnold Zephyl and his "child" Arnold, a hog.

and home of the the Shady Acre Hotel...

IOW, TV shows Green Acres and Petticoat Junction.

BTW The Hooterville Cannonball was in reality Sierra RR 4-6-0 #3. Still there!

Probably the Amtrak train is the "City of New Orleans", since the show is supposedly set in Mississippi. I believe the show was filmed in Social Circle, GA, which I always thought was a pretty neat place name. At least it wasn't filmed in Hopeulikeit (say it one syllable at a time, it's an actual place name).
