My wife and I flew from Austin to Long Beach with an intermediate stop at Phoenix.  We had to deplane, pick up a boarding pass, and wait for the same plane to reload.  Our baggage stayed on the plane; cows and baggage are different from people.  Remember the hullabaloo about pigs and cows can ride through Chicago but people can't? The Spring 2010 issue of Classic Trains has an article about a transfer run in Chicago.  I think a person could probably walk faster than the transfer's speed. Art
