How about either end of Jamaica (Queens) NY station on the LIRR? A bit of freight, diesel, electric-MUs, dual-powered through trains, and virtually all LIRR trains except those bound for Port Washington branch? Not sure if the JFK trains-to-planes are in the picture (i.e. above ground) anywhere.......

Next idea would be outer (western / southern) end of Penn.Station, Newark NJ - once the haunt of a smorgasbord of passenger cars (all the pre-Amtrak paint schemes PLUS the "Jersey Builders" with ex-GN equipment 30+ years ago, still a mix of everything from Acela Express to diesel-hauled NJTransit locals, and everything in between, PLUS PATH trains terminating. Inner (NYC) end (where everything crosses on the drawbridge spans of DOCK tower) would be an alternative with virtually the same traffic.

Both LIRR and NJ locales offer LOTS OF TRAINS almost all day long.
