Why are GE locomotives better than EMD?

Todd, <br />I'm afraid things aren't that simple. Even though EMD locomotives are assembled in London, Ontario, alot of the components that go into these locomotives, including the prime movers, are still made in the United States. It's also a fair assumption that GE locomotives assembled in Erie, PA have some components made outside of the US. <br /> <br />As for your political statement, wasn't it Democrat Bill 'Slick Willie' Clinton that signed the North American Free Agreement (NAFTA)?
