N-Stephenson - It all depends, Have you established rights as a Conductor? If not, are you willing to give up T&E to come here? Plus you have you look at ("man we hired to many dispatchers, we may need to lay a few off") <--- Dont get me wrong, I havent seen any dispatchers layed off..but Im just giving you the worst case senario in case you do and dont have anywhere else to go. My best guess is they wont hire anymore new dispatchers for about 5 years after they hire this bunch. As far as I know The Indy/Albany dispatching training Is in BeachGrove at the Holiday Inn. If I was you. Apply for the job! becuase it takes a while from the time people get interviewed to the actuall time u start training....so in the meantime you can ESTABLISH and KEEP your senority as a Conductor. The only problem we run into is if you dont have senority as a conductor Yet, would you still apply internally? I know my life has gotten a 100% better getting off the road and comming in here.
