I am going from HO to N and need to know the rise for going up and down rise on slopes

Do you mean the percentage of a grade? If so, grade percents do not change from the prototype to any scale - 2 percent is 2 percent, or a rise of 2 units (in., ft., mm., etc.) in 100 of the same units. However, the vertical clearance of one track over another does decrease from 3.5 inches in HO to 2.25 inches in N.
