What slows the Acela trains is the length of track from New York City to New Haven. From what I have heard, there are three old bridges gumming up the works, not to mention the slow unelectrified locals and freights.... <br /> <br />This is a classic example of putting the buggy before the horse. Why buy expensive new fast trainsets and not speed up the track?
