Well, one step at a time. They could use freight tracks in the interim, at medium speeds- say for the first two or three years, so operations can start well before construction is finished on the new lines into town. <br /> <br />Might be a bigger problem in how to interface with cutting through medium and small towns; look at how much fuss Auburn WA put on when BNSF reopened Stampede! <br /> <br />Alexander
