A head on collision last month near Elpaso Tx was due to a engineer
smokin dope they found the green leafy substance (weed)
and a drug smoing paraphanila (crack pipe)
on the dead engineer If UP wants to Stay in the race theyed better shape up
spend more on talkin to their employees and less on terrorism

Most railroads have very strong Anti-drug programs. Many have counseling as part of their program. I'd guess UP will have the "**** Bus" out and get a lot of random testing done. Besides, it sounds like this guy paid the ultimate penalty. Too bad he took the innocent conductor along with him. I guess I'm still not sure who you are saying was fired???

The least people could do if they end up being a train engineer, or truck driver, or airplane pilot, or any job of that kind is not do drugs, or abuse alcohol.

If you wanna do pot become a philosopher or something where your actions won't be hurting/killing people.

I hear ya, macguy. I don`t touch the stuff. I know people do, but don`t be stupid enough to operate anything at all under the influence, especially a train.

What I find funny/sick about this is that the railroad spouses in El Paso had a big demonstration about crew fatique immediately after the accident. Wonder if anyone in the public will catch a whif of politics in that?
