The one thing I have found out railroads and greasers is, the railroad always finds the most inconvenient and illogical places to put them. I have seen a lot of them about 1/2 mile before the curve or excessive placement on major grades. They put 2 on a major hill where I run when 1 would have been sufficient then they wonder why a 10,000 ton freight with 3 sd-40's stall on a 1.6% grade.
