Is there anyway to post pictures from a Kodak picture CD to this board? I got some real good ones of a pair of BNSF "supercarrotts" at Kayne Avenue yard in Nashville Tennessee.

The only way to post pictures here is by having them up on the web first. Once you do that its easy.

You need a web url to post a pic here in the forums. If you know someone who has a webpage and will post the pic on it then you can use that url and put a pic here in the forums.

Thanks for the replies. I guess I need to figure out how to get my own webpage now. I have never done that before. Some of you that have, is there some resource out there for someone like me?

Thanks,

George

There are tons of free webpages one can get. Most providers supply a small amout of space for free. I get 25 mb. Yahoo has free sites called geocities. All you would need to do is FTP the photos to your website space. The site provider will be able to supply an address.

Geocities, Tripod, Angelfire and many other free websites will not allow remote linking (which is how you get pictures to show up in the forums). It might work for a very brief period, but once their systems realize that you are using images from one of their servers on a different site, they'll disable it pretty quickly.

If you do get some space through your ISP, that should do the trick.

If all else fails, I can host images on one of my websites' servers & send you back the link to the picture. My email address is nora@homewoodjunction.com .
