Some of the Westbound UP intermodal trains from Global II stop at Global III to pick up a block of additional cars for the West Coast. Ditto on set-outs for the Eastbound trains. I guess its possible that what you seeing is not actually the train doing the pick-ups or set outs, but a following or opposing train that is having to wait while this work event is being done. (...or so goes my guess.)
