The Katrina, New Orleans & Western
Posted by Murphy Siding on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 9:29 PM

Given that there was a fair amount of news about how hurricane Katrina affected railroads right after the hurricane, what is the status of railroading in that area now?  Have there been any permanent changes?

Sidenote:  Our oldest son,17, went  on a mission trip to Port Charles, west of New Orleans last summer, to help people re-build homes.  He's going again this May.  I asked him about damage to roads, bridges, railoroads and such.  He didn't remember, but said he did meet these really nice girls on the bus trip....oh-to be a teenager!

Thanks to Chris / CopCarSS for my avatar.

The trolley system has a few miles running, the railroads are running, so things are somewhat normal
