What happened to the lost art of engineers waving?

Both appear to be intently taking photos even though they are quite distant from the camera that is making the video, which starts the sequence in substantial telephoto zoom. The two on the engine might be using telephoto also, but it is bound to be very difficult to hand hold telephoto steady enough while on a moving engine. I almost get the impression that this is more than just fun and games.</p>
