So I went that direction and when I got there it was all the way up. I took a couple of pics of it in that position. A UP intermodal train (with a UP engine and an NS engine) has just cleared the bridge. I actually took pics of that train while I was at Union Station (the old Missouri Pacific depot) where Amtrak stops. Another train, with a SP patch unit was leading another train and had to wait for the bridge to come down. While the bridge was up I noticed it had a device to block trains from falling into the river. I could not tell if the "door" was concrete or steel. Perhaps this is a weight that comes down when the bridge goes up, but I am not too sure about that. I think this is the first time I have ever noticed the bridge in the up position. I am not sure how the pics will turn out but I will post them and give a link when they are ready. <br />
