I noticed that you are a UP engineer, seeing as that is who I want to be an engineer for when I grow up I am honored to talk to you here on the forums. I am 14 and want to become an engineer for the UP, what are the requirements to become a UP engineer? And do you think it would be a wise choice to become an engineer? You can e-mail me or tell me right here. Thanks! [:D]

Well I'm also honored to be here and talk to you gentlemen (and ladies) about the wonderful world of railroading [:D]. If you want to have a life with well defined 9 to 5 work hours...this is not the field for you, If you don't mind the getting up at 3 in the wee hours of the morning in all kinds of weather running the risk of broken knuckles and hoses, you'll enjoy it (I've hung with it for 26 years [:P]). As far as the requirements.....I'll have to check and I'll get back to you. Thanks again.
