ghighland- <br /> <br />The 6 axle CNW unit that you saw at the NFDL yard was the southbound run-through. At the time that FRV existed, the CNW still had trackage north of Green Bay into Upper Michigan(ore lines). The CNW route up the Lakeshore through Manitowoc was embargoed north of Sheboygan, so they used the Valley route to get up there. The run-throughs used CNW, FRV, run-through units from other roads to pay back motive power hours, and leased units from various sources. HTH[8D]
