You'll be glad when you watch the short video The Railroader

I am about to commit a major blunder when it comes to Internet marketing. A few words from now, I’m going to suggest that you go to another company’s Website to view a video. My bosses would be extremely upset for not sending you to the many outstanding short and free videos we’ve made at www.TrainsMag.com. But just for today, I’m going to suggest you look elsewhere, specifically to National Geographic Short Film Showcase to see The Railroader. Once you’ve seen it, I think you’ll understand why I recommended it to you.

But first, I’m going to be so bold as to suggest that when you watch this video, you make sure that you can be undisturbed for 10 minutes. Have yourself an appropriate beverage to enjoy. Prepare to experience the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad in cinematic way that you’ve never seen before.

The story is told through the words and thoughts of my friend John Bush, who was chief mechanical officer of the railroad years ago, and returned a few years ago to lead the organization as president. John is one of those souls who deeply understands what this railroad means and why it is important.  This is a story about feelings, emotions, about rituals of passage, of carrying on traditions. If you’re expecting facts and figures about the Rio Grande’s San Juan extension and the 64-mile C&TS and its fleet of narrow gauge Mikados, look elsewhere. But if you want to get in touch with railroading of the heart, go watch.
