[quote user="loathar"] Yep, I just started on mine. I think it's a bit better quality than the horror stories I've been hearing. I was expecting a lot more problems. The pit does have one bad spot on the wall where the bridge scraped, but filing the ends of the bridge cured that. My biggest gripe is the crappy wheels you get. Too much flash on them and it's near impossible to get them true and round. I'm not going to use the track power rings and wipers that came with it
Thanks everyone for your input I do appreciate everything. As for the plow being to big the picture shows it big it just goes past the stairs on the locomotive. I was thinking of adding the weed cutter type to the switcher but for stupid reason I went witht he bigger one go figure hey? Maybe I should add the weed cutter tot he other side of the switcher hmmm things I could do.. Now all I need is some MU hoses and do soem weathering and she might look right.
Ok I guess I can contribute here as most have seen I put a plow on my SW1500 check out the post somewhere on the forums but I have been working on this next project for awhile finally got the rest of detail parts. Its a P2K GP30 it will be a Milw Road unit Here I added the rear weed cutter plow by details west and MU hoses Here I added the correct plow Next step will be primer and then the paint job.
I have done some googling online and I have seen very few photos of SW1500's with plows. Now I'm curious if this was a general practice on certain railroads or if anyone else models thereie Switcher fleets with a large plow such as the larger diesels have? If so please feel free and post photos. I ask thus due to I was thinking about doing this to my Freelanced railroad and I dont want to look to stupid doing it lol.
I believe theres more things to do or worry about than coming online and posting.. I for one would rather spend time modeling or doing something else. Also theres times that people post a question and no one answers them. I for one am one of those people so I basically dont post much. I use to but seems either A. I'm ignored by others or B. People really dont have any idea on what I'm asking or they dont know.. Another factor is probably a lot of people on here asked questions and got rude
As stated in the Subject I found one picture of a Sw1500 I believe with a snow plow attached. From what I have read online shortlines that use Switchers attach a snow plow to the locomotive due to its a road switcher.. So since my freelanced railroad has different locomotives I'm planning on using the switchers in the yard and for other services. SO I attached a photo of one I found a picture of one. I know theres more but I got this one. Comments? My freelanced railroad. Actual locomotive or
I judged this site last night. And I still stick with what I said about busy. It does look nice other than all the ads. I will have to investigate more on the site when I'm ready.
As the originator of the Midweek photo Fun about a yr ago I'm curious if I should bring it back or if there are people who are interested in this coming back? I thought it was always nice to see what some people accomplish during the week. Maybe someone does something and wants to show everyone but doesnt want to wait till WFP.. So what does everyone think should we bring it back? Or the other option is I use to have a thread started that had to do with What you did but didnt need photos unless
I just loged on today and not that impressed infact I think its cluttere to much with ads. As a business for the hobby I have been told I had to much clutter. Some like it short and sweet to find what they want etc.. So this is just what I was told not to have. Oh well seems I will be hopefully spending mor etime modeling instead of online anyway.
