Willy: Watch 'em all and how they do it. Not all outfits com silver-plated. Some have to struggle and get really creative to compete. Sometimes they survive and thrive while others wonder what went wrong. NEVER rest on your last project.
From memory where I saw them, Santa Fe had them (talkbacks) at Pueblo, Argentine, Newton/Sand Creek, Barstow and Hobart/LA... (The Pueblo talkback was an annoying rascal) I do not remember seeing evidence of them at Amarillo, San Bernardino A&B Yards, Hutch, Belen, Pico Rivera, Richmond or anywhere else.
The mongeese would be welcome just about anywhere on a shortline.....guess I'll send sympathy in advance cards to the two roadmasters that will deal with those bigger SD90MAC's when they get off the main and into the lighter rail backtracks with tighter switch curvature.
"Bumpers I have known, and run through"
Don't go there. The track department will want the offending train crews mugs on wanted posters on another calendar. Neither calendar will sell. (some old roadmasters will have to be treated for emotional distress)....
You forgot the RAILS TO TRAILS 2010 Calendar!
- only if it comes with a daily fallacy, screw-up or wives tale created by their dingbat pro-trails people or equally nuts NARPO
Snowing again here - What will the Freshman lab at Weatherliar U cook up this time? The giggles and guffaws from the back of the diner sound a little deeper this time.
Randy - I won't presume to speak for MC, but - chickens can't talk anyway. I have met both you and MC and trust me, you would not be one of those "dumb truckers". And MC "trucks" all the time - all across the country. Think you would both be "road gentlemen". So no apologies and I will intercept the donation for doing all this typing! (maybe something in chocolate?) Ms Moo
One of my fellow mudchickens at ATSF now drives
OK - Now I know what the "other" Fillmore & Western looks like.....
Not that uncommon. Asplundh has several trucks out there hi-rail equipped. (probably one of Eddie Edwards' band)...This is the same side of Asplundh that always does the railroad weed spraying under contract. There is a BNSF rules qualified foreman or machine operator in there somewhere getting the Asplundh folks a track warrant or track and time depending on the signal rules in effect. The Asplundh folks are all rules qualified at least to the FRA on-track safety awareness level and registered
BNSF 3 STUPID TRUCKERS 0 I guess putting up signs would be of no use [ Truckers can't read?]. BNSF southbound TILX coal train loads took out another parked truck at Kalamath Street here in Denver AGAIN. As usual, power lines, traffic lights and grade crossing protection got destroyed.... http://www.denverpost.com/news/ci_13746935
"Great Western Railway" "Western Lines" I think these names are appropriate. Most of my friends who aren't familiar with the railroads didn't understand what the name meant or where it was(course most didn't even know there was such a railroad in the country or even do anything anymore). There was an article in an issue of TRAINS Magazine stating that railroad names like BNSF & CSX could use a name change to state where they
