I think he means this G gauge Lionel set http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001VG9V7U?ie=UTF8&tag=wwwgroovykidg-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B001VG9V7U I saw it last night at Target, quality is the same as Polar Express mentioned in the LSC link as its the same engine, but this one is definetly funner, I like the "Major Award" in the boxcar. Its an inexpensive battery operated set and for just around the tree kind of fun its fine for that, I
Rudy, I think you are being a bit harsh in the matter. They certainly have the right to advertise thier product on thier own website; my complaint was that every time you changed pages they popped up again. They fixed that, you only get it when signing on, then it goes away. Yes, it's a pain, but I can live with that.
Same here, once I get the initial pop up, it doenst come up anymore, even when I switch forums.
Welcome, Aristo track and USA track are identical, just different tie color, shop around for the best price as track prices have become one of the biggest inititial costs getting started. Both tracks comes with little hex head set screws that bind the joiners and the rails together, they are kind of a pain as the hex screws are really small but once you get the hang of installing them they work quite well, a little LGB conductive grease inside each joiner also helps conductivity a great deal.
Yes, it is a good issue. Trying to read through Chris Walas's MLS figure making class can get a little tedious in its current format. Ray's condensation of that is a big plus. I may give it a try someday. I just heard about a new video camera company. Good quality and cheap! http://www.goprocamera.com/ The RC Hero is very small and only $180 - Be sure to check out the hi def surfing videos. My major gripe with GR - the "Regional Gardening Reports"
OK time for an update here: Well believe it or not the 4 ½ x 6 ½ proved to be TOO LARGE!! but not by much. I want to expand to On30 down the line so that means I need to create room for it next to the pizza, so after much pondering and thinking, to get the needed space I abandoned the side track expansion of the pizza (not a hard decision after I tried moving the then 3’ x 4 ½’ layout by myself, it ceased to be a portable layout) and decided to minimize the still under construction lower level. I

BA HUMBUG - Getting ready for christmas without a train round-the -tree!!! AND don't ask Dave
Aristo still sells their ultra-small diameter circles, I'm already on my 3rd 21" diameter circle, this one specificly for the Xmas tree, and the HLW Mackies sure dont seam to mind: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rgxds_saE2Q&feature
I sell and buy on Evilbay, as a buyer I post feedback after I recieve the item, as a seller I post feedback when I confirm payment, but also as a seller I never ship without Delivery Confirmation from USPS, that way I can track shipping and can tell if a package has been delivered or not. Its cheap insurance. The biggest problem I have is flakey buyers who dont post feedback for 2 months or ever, but better to recieve no feedback than negative. I also am meticulous about describing the real condition

I mentioned some time back a friend who knew I was a model railroader sent me a couple of Bachmann Spectrum items as a gift. Unfortunately I model HO and the items are some of Bachmann's new On30 models. I am very impressed with the quality of detail on the engine and rolling stock sent. The 2-4-4 Forney engine is a superb running locomotive. I only wish there was a Spectrum HO version available. I also
Its hard to beleive that in less than 10 years steam technology went from this in 1829: to the 4-4-0 in 1836, the quintsential model engine for the next 50 years
