Instead of making life difficult, just try www.bnfhoby.com they stock almost every HOn30 item under the sun. Not enough? Next try www.trainandtrooper.com they really do have every thing under the sun, but a little more pricey.
Exactly how much does a 2% percent grade go up by in a certain distance? Or in other words, how many feet does a 2% grade go up by per mile?
Google don't know diddly. I'd try a Yellow Book, or something with a buisness directory.
How long would it take to fire up a steamer to get enough pressure to move? Like, how long would it take to get a Berkshire up to steam, so you can use it?
Has anyone ever built a Campbell Scale Models kit? I wish to purchuse the Santangelo Fruit Co., but i don't want to be stuck with a craftsman kit, cause i'm not that skilled yet. Can anyone offer some insight?
PLEASE NOTE: your track and benchwork will contract and expand slightly, varying in the season, humidity, temp, etc. Small gaps are helpful, they won't let the track expand to the point of warping, deforming, etc, etc. But you don't need to listen to me. If you're trying to insulate rail peices, please, fill that gap. So there, my two pennies worth. Hope it helps a little.
My money says that Marty is sitting at his computer, laughing at how we can't figure out if it is real or not. PLEASE TELL US MARTY!!!!
Its nice to know that if you look hard enough, you still can find steam loco's in their natural habit: revenue service. This isn't no muesum steamer, this is a steamer that earns its keep. Keep on rollin', #1552!
I just guessing, but you wish to use N scale, right? Anyway, a quick search through MR trackplan data base would give you some good ideas. Personally, I like this one for its simplicity, yet interesting operation. http://www.trains.com/mrr/objects/pdf/mrr-d1007_nscalegreatnorthern(1).pdf As a side note, it could easily be expanded by installing a switch in the tunnel, which could lead to a cassette, staging yard, etc.
where would we be without the preserved information available and especially without the internet? thank you al gore.
So true. With out internet, there would be no question about team tracks. Team tracks, transload facilities, whatever you want to call them, is a place where the road meets the rail, allowing the movement of stuff from truck to train, or vice versa.
