Would anyone here know a good place "classifieds, etc" I'm looking to trade H.O. DCC items for O gauge items. thank you
I'm thinking about taking it to an authorized repair center. I just don't want to make it worse than it already is. Thanks for the input though. The JB Weld idea sounds good, but I don't want the tender sealed eternally. It might work to adhere the broken off parts and then use the drill. thanks for the replies & if there are any other suggestions, I'd be glad to hear them.
I just bought an MTH Railking 30-1118-1 PRR K4 Torpedo on evilbay. The ending price was $150. and the loco had never been on any rails, it's dead mint. Well, it was a local seller, so I went to his house to pick it up. He just had to show it to me & "HE" DROPPED THE TENDER .. about a 4 foot drop to the floor. Now, screws are lying on the floor where they broke the threads to the tender's shell. SO, he told me not to worry about it and that he couldn't sell me something broken
it's diecast. thanks for the reply doug
I haven't a clue how, but I've got everything working. It's on location 21 somehow, but at least everything is working as it should and I'll dare not to try to change the location anytime soon. I'm really happy with it, now that it's working properly. thanks everyone, Jeremy
I have a Broadway limited "blue line". While I programmed a 4 digit address in the decoder using the Digitrax DT400. I then tried to program the sound decoder on the main line in "ops mode". The following conditions exist: 1. I can control the direction and speed. 2. Engine makes chuff sounds in sync w/ speed. 3. I can not control any other of the sound functions! 4. Lights do not work. Should I attempt programming the sound decoder with the shorting plug installed? Any help,
The MTH Z-1000 is a good transformer. However, at 100 watts, something like a dual motored F3 pulling five illuminated 15" streamliner cars would tax it, blow it's breaker constantly, and eventually fry the electronics.
I been reading 100's of posts on different forums, also Google searching the problem I had. And I came across a few that had posted their MTH P2 F3 A unit wouldn't run and would make only a few sounds with a Z1000, so they
As for the "TMCC and DCS" conversation, ... I don't have a clue about any of it. I've looked a lot of controllers online, but I think it'll be some time before I have any knowledge on compatibility issues. I'm just trying to play it safe for now. For me, keeping it simple at this point is the smartest way to go. I've had enough headaches the past week. To go out and buy a DCS system and loco this weekend would probably cause me to check myself into a psych ward &
straight out of the MTH Railking Manual, concerning the squeaking brakes: PROGRAMMING FOR SQUEAKING BRAKE OPERATION ProtoSounds® can be programmed for squeaking brake operation in three different manners; (1)Squeaking brakes can be activated by bell button control, (2)they can be programmed for continuous operation subject to throttle changes or (3)they can be programmed to be turned off. The default setting is (2) Squeaking brakes are in continious operation as described on page 8. To change the
Yep, John. It's awesome when everything works as it should. I need more track, etc. It's just there's no limit, except for your imagination, of what you can do on a layout. I had ideas, but now I'm lost again. I don't know where to start. So, I'm searching every layout I can find online to get ideas and at the same time trying to double & triple check items that aren't compatible. I'm also wanting to keep the freight cars, buildings, etc. all in the same era, so
