Chris - some years ago, someone said, that roundabouts prevent accidents. Now all German communities, even the smallest one. build roundabouts. We have one which is so small, that even a normal car cannot properly circle around it. Imagine an ambulance with a heart patient ...
There is a little tiny one by a friends subdivision that has a paved inner circle----guess what everyone is doing there? Yep---right through the traffic circle-- ----------------

Poles leaning at 30 degrees off perpendicular to the ground, warped and gnarled looking things, poles with about 4 guys holding them up---- And poles that used to carry CN/CP telecommunications wires----

$162 Bil. in bonuses for Wall Street executives in 2009. Great allocation of financial resources. Thank you to the omniscient, omnipotent "market." And some are incensed about $8 Bil. for HSR?
That is not an 'open market' idea. That was stupidity. Don't be blaming an open market for stuff like that. The former USSR had graft of huge amounts----China's Gang
