My guess is A) You work for MRC or B) You failed to take your medication today. Lets see your layout pics and move on to somthing else.
A) i don't work for MRC B) i took my meds yesterday but i'm not sure if i did today also i have great experiences with Broadway Limited Locos, I love my GG-1,and my Atlas locos also with QSI sound, but at a club meeting last night, one of the members was complaining that his Mountain is going back to BLI for the third
try the following recipe... 2/3 elmers white glue...1/3 water...a teaspoon of isopropyl rubbing alcohol...a couple of drops of dishwashing soap...shaken, not stirred, [you can add an olive if you like...only kidding] place your scenery material, [ground foam, dyed sawdust, etc] where you want it. use a cheap sprayer bottle, [i always steal my wife's hair mister], fill this with water and alcohol. use this to spray-gently mist the scenery material, [too hard a spray will blow it around], until

Mr.Bedard, I'm surprised you didn't blame the price increase on that wicked MRC.
Tis possible. Wait, your RIGHT! Tis MRC's fault for the crisis!!!!! Down with MRC! I smell something.....something that has been lurking 'round these forums for a while.......I think it rhymes with bowl......the facts....one post....new identity.....hmmm.....what could it be? David B
David, I'm not even
I would love to hear an MRC rep come on here and explain their reasoning. But, like many politicians, I don't think they would be able to tell the truth, which most likely is that they feel that their chosen course will yield more profit. MRC systems tend to appeal to first time users because of price and ease of use, and because of their advertising approach. For many of us, we didn't even realize how important a computer interface would be would be when we
i know i'm a newbie poster here, i wasn't trying to slam any one person in particular, but look at it as if you were new to this forum and saw the negativity and hate. you would take a step back and go "Whoaa!!!!", there's enough hate and predjudice in the real 1:1 world that we have to deal with on a daily basis, are we really going to let it seep into the hobby that we enjoy and the hobby that is supposed to make us forget about what goes on the real world....Maybe that's
i rushed out and bought a quantum revolution and all it's software parafanalia, and was highly dissapointed with the sound and performance of it, [fake synthesized sounds- talk about sounding like a spacship!!!]. forget about the hassle of downloading new sounds into...highly frustrating!!! now the new diesel tsunami, is an expensive piece, and sounds just as terrible, and runs awful. i have quite a number of Athearn sound locos that i run on my NEC dcc system and are quite happy with their sound
I had asked the question on another thread who makes the Athearn sound decoders but i see on this thread everyone is saying MRC makes the sound decoders for Athearn...i have one question...one of the posters here stated the following: "Yes, every Genesis I've purchased (SD70s, 4-6-6-4, Fs... seems like I'm missing one) have had some sort of problems. MOST of which are due to the junky MRC electronics they use in them. I assume the 4-6-6-4 is a great machine but I've not been able
David, these were far from my first decoder installations sound or non-sound. i have been installing decoders into locos since the early days when Brooklyn N-Trak first went to dcc, and Dynatrol was around. The speakers were purchased from a dcc dealer up in Vermont, [name withheld to protect the innocent]. i also know how to build enclosures because i work in the audio field building custom speaker enclosures for professional musicians. I also know what real locomotives sound like because i spend
if you have a junker locomotive, lets say a Tyco GG-1 from the 70's that ran like garbage in it's hey day...you could put a nuclear reactor in it today and it will still run like garbage, never mind a good expensive decoder. a decoder whether MRC or QSI or Soundtraxx can not warp an SD70's trucks or affect the pulling power of a loco. if there is a quality issue like warped trucks a garbage drive train, why blame the decoder manufacturer, why not blame the loco manufacturer? if the loco
the MTH locos operate with all nmra compatible dcc systems, plus their own DCS system, and regular analog D.C. due to the many programming protocols in the various dcc systems, MTH felt it better to leave out program track programming, so you can only program them on the main or in ops mode. verify that they run out of the box on default address # 3, then with your Digitrax dcc system, [i use a DT400 throttle], enter ops mode programming, [Pom] shows in the display, twist the encoder for either "Ad2"
