Another weekend of great photos. Here's my entry. This is a textile mill specalizing in fire retardant material that will eventually be surrounded by a walthers building. It is all scratch build with balsa wood, styrene, sewing thread, beads, and ribbon for the fabric. There are also a few parts added to it from my parts junk box to give it more detail. The cotton goes into a gin, which makes the thread. The thread is sent to a weaving loom and then the material
This is how it looks:
It looks great, I am interested in seeing it in place on the layout. For paper and card stock it looks very realistic with a lot of texture. Well done.
As was said by others, overkill. I used 2X4 legs on mine but only because they were on sale and cheaper than 2X2. The frame is 1X4. Very strong.
Yep. I plan to add operation too.
OMG, I am amazed at the replies to questions that were not asked. The only information I needed was do car/locomotive number contain non numeric characters? A simple yes would have sufficed. Nothing else, no comments, no critiques, nothing. If someone has their information in Excel they would like to share, respond yes, else don't respond. Don't tell me no, not responding indicates the negative. I have noticed that a number of forum members just have to respond just to build up there count
I don't run steam engines. But I did 30 or so years ago. They did not run that well. Especially across switches and cross overs. And as most have said they need more TLC, especially then. I would think steam engines, as has the entire hobby, have improved.
I thought you already HAD that information - " A friend is helping me test using his equipment list. He has road numbers containing non-numeric characters. "
You are correct, I was trying to find out how common it was. My cars, only 60, have nothing but numbers.
Jumping on people for participating in the thread because they don't go in the direction you want is impolite
You are right and I apologize. I should have ignored the posts other than the ones on topic. Again I apologize.
Do you have access to a database software like access?
Here is one screen image: Not Access, but yes. Here are some other early screen shots .Some of the fields have changed but you should understand the direction I am going.
