maxman, the manual you found is probably for the old version of the decoder. Look at this: http://www.ncedcc.com/images/stories/manuals/d13v35_d.pdf This is a manual for the decoder which I have. As rrinker wrote: "The D13SR has 4 outputs (...)Two are in the wire harness (F0F and F0R) and the other two are solder pads."
Do you have the headlights (forward) hooked to the F0F white output, the red (tail) lights hooked to the F0R yellow output and each ditch light hooked to F3 and F4 outputs? Are there any other lights you have hooked up as well, if so to what output?
That is right. No other lights. Arek
It took me some time but I learnt something new. I have not heard about JMRI before. I managed to configure it and check the CV's values for the decoder. [ Randy thanks for your tips]. The values from JMRI are the same which I calculated according to the manual: CV35 = 0 output 3 is not controlled by F1 CV36 = 12 8+4 outputs 3&4 controlled by F2 CV122 = 185 56(Type1 Right Ditch Light) + 128(LED) + 1 (function active only in the forward direction) CV123 = 189 60(Type1 Left Ditch Light) + 128
Hello, I am trying to configure the NCE D13SR decoder for ditch lights. I did all steeps according to the manual but there is a problem when the model runs in the reverse direction. When it runs in the forward direction the lights work properly. The ditch lights are lit and continue flashing when I press F2 button. After I release the button they are lit again. Problem appears when the engine runs in the reverse direction. The ditch lights are turned on and when I press F2 they turn off for a moment
Thanks for all replies. I am not familiar with this company. It is a first time when I see these kits. Do they need a lot of work to put all car's details together? Are they painted ? What parts does the kit contain? All what you need to have a complete car (glasses, trucks etc.) or maybe just shell which has to be painted. I am think I am able to assemble the car if I would have all parts but I don't have an air brush and artistic skills for painting it.
Hi, I just found that Athearn announced F59PHI in Operation Lifesaver painting. This locomotive runs with Surfliner cars but I am not sure if models of these cars are available in H0. I found some very old topics about Surfliner and Amtrak California cars on this forum. Someone was plannig to produce this model. I know that OMI made these cars in the past but they were very expensive. Does anyone know something about Surfliner cars? Maybe some rumours . I would like to have this model but I don't
Thanks a lot for all replies. AntonioFP45 you are right. I got an email from one of modelers who is sure that the engine #7204 (which model I own) has Leslie RS3L horns. Hello Peter. Greetings from Poland I attached pictures of my SD90. I had to cut away some part of the metal frame. The speaker is placed under fans. There is some space between the speaker and the plastic shell to improve acoustic. The speaker which I installed is Soundtraxx 810113 Small Oval Speaker.
The decoder is hard wired in. Connections are ok: 1. Headlight - white&blue 2. Rearlight - yellow&blue 3. Fx5 - brown&blue 4. Fx6 - green&blue Fx5 & Fx6 are configured as ditch lights. All lights except the headlight works properly. I can turn them off, the rearlight depends on the direction. I did the hard reset as well but it didn't help. The headlight lights continuously as soon as the power is in tracks. I have no idea what is going on. Maybe connections in the decoder
Hello, I installed Tsunami decoder in my Kato SD90. Everything works good except the headlight. It doesnt't go off. I can't turn it off with F0 button. It lights continuously even the engine runs in rewerse. The rear light works properly. Lights are connected properly as well. The headlight to the white wire and the rear light to the yellow wire. Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong? Regards, Arek
David, Thanks for a tip. I just installed Tsunami decoder (sounds for EMD710) in my Kato model. It sounds great ! I'm thinking now about sound decoders for Athearn P42 and F59PHI. Which decoders would be suitable for these models? I found that F59PHI has the same engine EMD710 but 12 cylinder. Is the Soundtraxx EMD710 the best choice for this model? What about AMD103/P42? I searched this forum and found that some people recommend Loksound. However posts were quite old (from 2007/2008) so Revolution
