Must have been really wierd to see! Vintage Passenger loco's on a pig train.
Yeah, I have a place in Union Pier. I see lots of BNSF power on the CSX line wonder why. When I was there in December to put my boat up for the year, I saw no sign of them building a station on WHittaker. I'll be up there on Spring Break, I'll see if I see anything. But can you spell street running in Michigan City
Two SW1's or SW1200's mu'd together nose to nose
Older 567 EMD Switchers. I love going down to the Zephyr Pit in Chicago and watching BNSF switch out coaches with their H1 SW1200. It sounds so cool
Right, well there was lots of neat talk of the J so lets start that up again. I shot the 322 and 306 switching Joliet 2 weeks ago. Who knows where all of the EJE freight cars, MOW equipment, and switchers will be heading on the Gary RR?
This line is called the Lumber District, They have a second line, the Illinois Northern, they have a peoria division as well. CENTRAL ILINOIS. Their 1207 is also a brother to the newly painted 1206, '58 for the BRC. Then they have an ex Illinois Central SW14 on the southern end of the line. http://www.flickr.com/photos/franklinc55/3141774781/ Both of their engines are in plain view, one being just north of west Pioneer Parkway, and one along Adams, just past the crossing.
Hey guys, Kinda late here. I was there the day that the pics in Trains Magazine were taken. The crew painted the engine themselves, and are keeping it on a tight leash. It looked great in the snow. There are two engines in the compound, THis one, and one of its four brothers owned by the company (all were built in February of 58 for the BRC) The graffiti unit, the 1208is in really rough shape, the company is planning on parting it out and possibly rebuilding it someday, but it hasn't run since
There was a P42 on the rear when it left CHicago. Amtk 51 was coupled to the Cedar Rapids car.
What is your favorite diesel? Mine is the EMD SW1
all this makes me want to buy one
