i was looking through all my model RR books and magazines when i found a picture with a track layout that fits exactly what I'm looking for. But with my methods and very limited imagination i couldn't make it fit. so does anyone have any ideas on how to make it fit without mutilating and deforming it too much? its a module by the way. okay, the module cant be longer than 5 feet long and the main line starts and ends 12in from the back all other tracks can be any where but no curves tighter
okay next shot. this version has more room on sidings and more interesting track arrangements. " align="texttop"> so does this look okay? i have no idea of the industries except the smallish one in the center will be a freight station/team track.
my new layout idea is based on the Jan 2009 mr project layout the beer line. this module is 6 small (1-3 max cars) industries and a runaround the turnouts are #5 (i know they look a lot sharper) so will it work in this space? my idea was to build this module first and run it while working on the others. so does it look operable and buildable? v\:* {behavior:url(#default#VML);} o\:* {behavior:url(#default#VML);} w\:* {behavior:url(#default#VML);} .shape {behavior:url(#default#VML);} Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4
first, yes it will be part of a larger layout, it will be very similar to the beer line as in 4 modules; 2 U turn, 2 straight. second, okay, first try was crap. Stilson i like your plan, i may just elaborate off of it and change a few things if its okay. (the runaround problem could be fixed by flipping the crossovers, i think.)
I have been planning my layout and have hit some walls... i would like to ask you kind forum users four questions; 1.) how do you transition between country and urban scenes on a layout? The way I see it in my head would make it look very odd. 2.) I want to try to fit a small steel mill into an area that is about 8' square. Is that possible? How compressed would it have to be? 3.) what goods would a small steel mill take by rail? How much of each good in proportion(3 cars of * for every 2 cars
another thing, are there any commercially available N scale models of steel mill buildings? I searched on the web but couldn't find any thing.

Don't restrict yourself so much on benchwork, this will cause you to use substandard radiis and make other adjustments that you may not be satisfied with. In terms of which benchwork is better, ita matter of choice and application. The L-girder does give more flexability and the scenery can go above or below track level easily.

I think? Tom Correct me if im wrong but i believe N scale has all the sound and at least most of the HO has.
