I was talking to Doyle McCormick at Trainfest and a guy came up and showed Doyle a picture of his Stationwagon in Daylight paint. never seen a guy more conused and worried about the general state of society in my life, or ever will.
I seriously doubt that Athearn would take the molds for Tower 55 products and downgrade them to Athearn RTR quality.
It wouldn't be downgrading if T55 did all the dirty work. I can see Athearn being able to offer Genisis engines at RTR levels, because that's all the more they had to pay for them. Now, is this right? Dunno. Probably not, I don't know how far along the T55s were.
Heard a rumor today, hopefuly it is a rumor that Kato is discontinuing their H O line of locos and doing strickly N scale, anyone else heard this yet ,maybesomeone can check it out . They said because most modelers are going to N scale because of less room in the newer homes. Like I said might be a rumor so dont take this as the gospel truth yet.
That rumor has circled before. In this economy, I can see Kato cutting back to one gauge. There is popularity
Texas, On my 5 by 18 foot layout do you think I would be better off then with a couple of separate blocks?
Yep. If only because of the long straightaways on the 18ft. You could get away with 2 blocks, I'd go three myself, divided up relatively evenly. That wy your trains don't start to dog at the other end of the layout.
I use OpenOffice Speadsheet. It's like Excel, only open access. Nick
I've not liked OpenOffice myself, the 2nd graders I help have it on their wannabe laptops, and I can't get it to do half the things I need it to.
Hi all, I'm considering getting into model railroading and am trying to come up with some basic layout and operations ideas before I take the step of buying actual equipment. I'm interested in late steam-era modelling and, since I'm from Chicago, I'm thinking doing something with an Nickel Plate Berk would be fun. As one of my other hobbies is historical wargaming, I'm looking into a WWII-era layout. Given all the major industrial centers along
