Canadians > us. I keep on complaining to my friends that the US$ is falling so sharply it's not even funny. Then they laugh. Then they ask me why a slice of pizza went up $.20-50 at every local parlor. And it's even funnier to watch these people with Canadian sweatshirts come in to our local place and dull out several US$20 bills. Everyday. Attention all Americans: The alphabet now ends with "Zed".
Why doesn't someone actually build rail TO Phoenix, so that Phoenix will become a more international city? No city fairs well on the international scope without a full blown transportation system (boats excluded). Although I think the Light Rail will help the area A LOT.
First off, I wouldn't quite call people living next to the airports lucky - People in Chicagoland have been suffering the noise and traffic for years, and now they're failing to prevent a 3rd airport from being built (many there say we need high-speed trains - the maglevs are silent!), contributing to light, sound and air pollution. One family member I have lives near LaGuardia Airport (I know, it's NYC), and whenever I'm there it's not even worth looking up to see one of man's
Well, as far as I can tell, skipping New Yark ain't da brightest idea, and I'm not just saying that because I live in the city. If you were to have one and only one high-speed rail line, as this scenario suggests, why would you make it bypass New York?
I'll laugh... he he... he he... at myself... I for one do like those yellow lines, because they seem (somewhat) precise, and they look prototypically accurate as far as the distance between them two lines go.
Thanks a lot for the advice... now to go looking for a finger... oh wait, here's one! So, I forget who mentioned it, but how expensive are these "deerfoot" brushes? Sorry, I'm not much good at art, but if you don't have water acryllics, what acryllics can you use? (Can you use the same paints as the airbrush paints?)
I'm just curious - how can one weather cars without buying tons of airbrush equipment and without much space (think NYC apartment)? That is, if it's possible.
So much for cordially concluding this thread about... 30 posts ago. I have two completely different, small responses to what you said: 1. Concerning your apparently delightful plane ride from PA to FL, most of the people in this thread never said that such trips should be made via rail, because you're right, it would be ridiculous. But as far as finding a cheaper alternative, looking at things besides people eating microwaved food and the tops of clouds, and avoiding all of the new security measures
My story is different from all of yours. I was in the depths of Central Joisey (New Jersey), when I passed by Northlandz Resort. I went in there, and was inspired. Anyone else NOT start off by a train set they somehow got?
Well, I am not very familiar with the area, but I chose it because it's a crossroads between countless railroads. And plus, I do recall someone saying that modellers can model things they've never seen before.
