Prayers and thoughts to all in central Florida and their families . GOD BLESS and we are thinking of you and are deeply sorrowed .
I was told on a locked forum WILLIAMS did not make any brass structured engines ---- so I went to see if I was wrong --- WILLIAMS BRASS 7002 SP CAB FORWARD STEAMER & TENDER O Scale Williams Brass #7001 4-8-8-4 UP Big Boy Steamer Williams PRR E-6 Brass Loco and Tender, circa 1989 Features: All Brass Construction Williams Crown Edition- Union Pacific USRA 2-8-2 Mikado These are just a couple I found in 5 minutes .....
Well ... Williams has brass engines about or near the same price as Lionel . Lionel is tried and true for over 80 years . K-Line was the best price deal ... 99% Lionel at better prices . MTH had alot of problems and I'd only buy their newer engines ... as the proto 1 engines were extremely buggy and cost hundreds of dollars to rewire and get dependable . You only get the digital remote engines in Lionel and K-Line / tmcc ---- MTH has their version of digital which is not standard and may fall
ME .... I would .... they even make kids on skateboards ... but no miners ... go figure !
laz 57 ... I agree ... what fun is it to buy engines and pack them away in a box and never even put them on a track . When I'm dead and dust I don't care what they get for them . It'll only make my wife buy an older model buick and goto the hairdressers less ! I keep seeing these O scale collections labeled "selling my late husband's collection " on ebay . Makes me sick ..... but I bid anyway .... LOL
What's this " buy a less powerful transformer so you won't have your engines fly off the tracks " comment I see all the time ? Good lord ... do those guys also buy a 4 cylinder car with no horsepower so they don't scream down the street at 120 mph ? If a person does'nt have enough common sense to keep the throttle back on a transformer or pedal off the floor in a car ..... duhhhhh ! As far as engine performance a transformer can screw up the response . Lousey or underpowered
DEP ... I don't know where ben10ben got his statistics from either . None of mine ever went dead like that in that short of time . Maybe he bought those 19 cent korean ones off ebay ... LOL I've seen what's going on and what's been said buddy ... as to what you're referring to . Seems like you can't get on here and post without some idiot jumping all over you or making fun of what you write . Because you left a letter out of the battery designation ..... hummmm . I've
Yep --- these guys summed it up perfect ! From a cardboard box to a home brew self constructed plywood box with a computer or low priced exhaust fan at home depot for $10.00 . With the plywood unit you can put a few hangers in it to hang items to get that all over paint job . It does'nt have to be pretty as it won't anway after use ... just work . Anyone who pays $200.00 for a mini spray booth is as the old saying goes " A FOOL AND HIS MONEY ARE SOON PARTETED " ! A pair of long
The best is to use a primer on lead/cast/aluminum/diecast anything . I use what we used in the aircraft industry ZINC CHROMATE primer . It can be bought at most body shop supply dealers or parts dealers in a spray can and goes on very thin not eliminating any detail and keeps paint where it belongs . Make sure you clean your parts very good first . It has a pee green color so make sure they give you the right thing and don't let anyone tell you " this is just like it " ... it's
Clean ... inspect and lube those engines first ! Also the wheelsets and couplers on the cars . Setup a short test track and test your engines . Track should work but make sure you can still get pieces to match . Check all wiring on engines ... cars ... and your transformer for brittle or broken areas . Make sure no spider webs or buggy critters made a nest in any ---- yes that has happened and shorted things . Get a good breaker/trip unit between your inputs and outputs . Use only good wiring at
