Probably get mine today or tomorrow... but it won't do me any good... I haven't opened November's yet... come to think of it, I wonder where I put it!
Early Mornin' Fellas. Hope to get things wrapped up at work so I don't have to put in any hours this weekend! I'm glad I have a job, but honestly this is ridiculous. Had they listened to me 1 year ago and hired the two additional staff members I recommended we wouldn't be in this position (having to work 16 to 20 hour days for three weeks straight), believe me there is more than enough work for 2 more staff members. Overheard someone say 'Well why can't he work longer hours
Mornin' Fellas. Busy as a fox in a hen house around here. Since I cut my leg I've been pulling 15 - 18 hour days for work trying to get this project done and get the data into our systems from a company we acquired back in August. Leg is on the mend and today I go to get the stitches removed. PT is going well, have most of the ROM back! In a week or so we'll start strengthening the muscle again... funny because I don't remember doing any strengthening to begin with! Prayers for Dennis
I have the Lionel GP30 in Chessie from the Diesel Freight set (TMCC) and it runs and pulls like a beast. I also have the GP30 in Chessie with Legacy and the two double headed are near the best pulling engines I have. IMHO, you can't go wrong with either the GP30 or the C420.
Bluebottle - I just love shop owners who claim O is too expensive. You can buy an entire starter set, loco, cars, track, transformer for < $300 and yet there are some HO engines that will run you > $500. The point I am making is you have different price points in all gauges. It just depends on how much you want to spend. As for a 2 yo? Most likely he will not be able to control the trains himself and therefore you will need to be there to run them. I have some Lionel Thomas the Tank Engine
Evenin' Fellas. Well the Dr appt went well. 24 stitches in total. 12 internal to pull the muscle back together and 12 external to help pull the skin together. No swelling, which is a minor miracle through all this. Doc said I'll be laid up till next week and should be able to return to work on Wednesday. Can't drive while I'm taking oxycodone. I have to go back in two weeks for a follow-up and hopefully have the stitches removed. Then start PT around the same time. Charlie - BIG CONGRATS
to the forum. Toy trains are like any product, there are going to be some units that don't perform well out of the box. This happens and there is simply no way to have a 100% bug free product, no matter what any one tells you. With that said, you can not go wrong with any of the starter sets on the market today. I would agree with Don that getting to a train store that has both Lionel and MTH running on display is a wise thing to do. Atlas is also making some nice sets in their Industrial Rails
Sturg - yep only when I laugh, or walk without the crutches. Rich - prayers raised for your daughter Sturg - continued prayers for you and your daughter
Mornin' Fellas Well last night was a bit of excitement. I got home around 5:30 and started working on the sunroom exterior. As I was finishing up I had been cutting a piece of plywood. Well I accidentally had my finger on the trigger and my other hand on the blade guard release... As I was setting it down I caught my left leg with the running blade. 8 inches long, 2 inch wide gash on my leg. I kept my cool and applied preasure as I got inside yelling for Susan to call an ambulance. Laid down
Buckeye, For a new comer to the TMCC realm setting these systems up without help of someone who is knowledgable can be very intimidating. What I don't like about the manual is they go through all the features and commands BEFORE they tell you how to set it up... that doesn't make sense because when you open the box the first thing you need to do is set up the system... It was asked at the April Legacy User's Group Meeting whether they would be releasing a 'quick start' guide and
