Good evening everyone. Does anyone know any Lionel Fastrack configuration for a 45 degree double track crossover using 4 Lionel Fastrack O72 switches? The switches align perfectly on the crossover but when I try to connect the straight track portions, they don't align with any track combination I can solve. I've tried lengthening the crossover and the switches with 1/2 straights, 10 inch straights and 1.75 inch straights and I can't get it right. Of course I'd like to keep the overall
Please don't go to a lot of trouble here. I thought perhaps that someone had built this before me and could share their design. Anyway, the turnout is 15 1/2 inches straight, 14 1/2 O72 curve, which is the same as a standard Fastrack O72 single piece curve, 16 to a circle I believe. The crossover is 10 inches straight. When I have the switches connected to the crossover, the length of the straight that needs to be completed is exactly 8 inches. I have the roadbed equipped extensions attached
You solved it! After you mentioned it, I realized Lionel made a 4 1/2 inch straight. I had completely forgotten about that. I have never bought any so I didn't have any laying around to try. That's perfect! Thanks! Jim
Good evening. I would appreciate anyone's help in protecting accessories from power surges. Specifically, I have a Lionel Backshop (sorry, I know these are a very sore subject) that I am trying to protect. I know I read a recent article on this in one of the 'O' gauge magazines but I can't seem to find it. Thanks! Jim
Good evening again. Does anyone know how to adjust the doors on the Lionel Backshop? My doors raise and I get the "binding" audio sound and the doors go straight back down. Is there a way to adjust the doors so they don't go up as high or do I have another problem? (the problem is probably that I just own the Backshop, right?) Thanks! Jim
Very useful! Thanks for the help! Jim
Hello Experts! I am beginning construction of a 4,5, or 6 track yard with Fastrack. I will be using left hand 'O48' Fastrack remote switches. Length will be in the 8-10 foot range. Maximum width is 48 inches with room for switch controllers on the edges. I am looking for any websites, ie. free, that might help me with design. Specifically, the number of half curves and half straights needed, etc. to utilize my space in the most efficient manner. I do not want to buy any unnecessary track
I'll try that. Thanks! Jim
Hi and excuse me if this question has been asked and answered a thousand times. I am looking for a source for the insulated female quick connectors that are used on Fastrack accessory and terminal wires. I have been to several hardwares, Radio Shack, etc. and can't find any that are small enough. I really don't want to buy them from Lionel if I can help it due to cost. I believe they need to be compatible for 18 gauge wire. Can anyone help? Thanks! Jim
Thanks - That's what I need!
