Without a doubt current gas prices are helping Amtrak big time. I think they have lowered their ticket prices somewhat
I have noticed a significant increase in train traffic, will we be seeing a decrease in semi-traffic? Heres my reasoning. 1) Everyone is freaking out about gas prices. 2) One intermodal train with 2 SD70M's can haul what 150 Semis can 3) Doesn't this mean that trains are more efficent that trucks? 4) Although you need the trucks to transport the goods to the businesses. What are your views on this? Best regards, Mike

I also have a tip about those chain-link fence shots. When shooting through them like that, try to poke your lens through the hole in the fence (or at least get it as close
Well, I hopped on a bike, and rode to the nearest train station, armed with my fathers camera, I took many pictures. Heres what I have for one day of biking 18 miles. First train, a Union Pacific ES44AC followed by an Illinois Central GP something or other (Still trying to learn my units from just looking at them) and a Union Pacific C44-9W. A few pictures will follow this. As I was taking pictures, two SD40-2s came from behind me, I snagged a quick picture, who doesn't like double meets? I couldn't

Yes, I had never said that this was a DCC equiped locomotive, but I have been looking into that, seems like something to try when I get the layout finished Mike
