Sorry, That was 18A with 18 lit (2 unlit) passenger cars. I have USATrains PA1-PA2 ABBA with 8 motors. I'm in the process of removing one motor from each unit, that will help some. Plus, that was with wheel slip, with traction tires. Each unit is very close to all of the others in current draw, 4+ amps at wheel slip.
Howdy Dan, I too run as many as 18 of the USA streamline 32" long passenger cars all lighted with an ABBA consist, sometimes ABBBA
John, Are those bent nosed "Vise Grip" type pliers ? I would guess the clamping on would be to dissipate the heat before the ties while soldering, seems you'd need something that would clamp on tight to the rails to accomplish that.......Right...... Byron
Say Jack, How far are you from Greensboro, SC?? Got a friend there in Greer just north of there. Might be visiting him soon, would maybe like to see your line too. Byron
I would like to have the connections you have. I have complained about the shorting problem to Aristo until I was Blue in the face. I had a problem with their new Live steam engine. I got one of the first on the market. It had a boiler leak. It cost me $50.00 to return it for repairs.
Well all I can maybe guess at this point in time, is that the economy and the GOOD OL'American corporate greed factor may have taken over......I had never had any
Correct me if I am wrong everybody.......Aristo track now carries a life-time Guarantee, I do believe..... Anyway..... I have always been given the Micro switches and connected wiring for free from Aristo, when ever I requested one, for the shorting problem. I had two short out so bad, they melted every tie where the screws connected to the track rails, sent'em back and was sent two complete brand new switches.....I mean... the whole complete #6 switch tracks, not just the little Micro switches
Byron, you are dead on, so long as after (or during) the experiment results, both fair and foul, be shared. We can all learn for each others success’s and non-success. I will not use the word fail, as it is a learning process, we learn what works and learn what does not work.
Will Do, Tom Now that the hot season is finally starting to break down here, It cooled down a bit just this past evening, It should be real nice to start getting back outside and do some
How are you ordering it?
Hi all, I must first say, Thanks Tom, for the information about these folks and their products. I have been corresponding with TINA, a representative of this company. I 've explained to her that it is my desire to try and use either their Stabilizer or maybe the StaLok All Weather product. I"ve explained to her, that I want to try and use one of their products, to hold in place, a product in this area called "Hardshell"
All goes back to what I had said earlier, the god of corporate thinking is all they see, get it however you can and DON"T give it back. Yes sometimes the consuming publics only way of getting them to let go is get a little loud with them at times.....Or at least let others know how they had treated you....I see no problem in that, Walt and Bob.... Byron
Not everyone is concerned about making this countrys number one god though, the all mighty dollar bill, doesn't it say right on the bills "in our god we trust." I have personally had many really good transactions on the ol "EVIL BAY." However, yes, you can run into the bad ones, at or on any venue. Granted the folks who do run that venue TOO, do seem to only be interested in that same god. But that is just the way things seem to be going in these "HARD" times now
In other words, no less than 10 FT diameter curve track, I personally have no less than 14 FT diameter on my main line for running those 33 inch long USA streamliners. Byron
