Oh awesome! I love New York City! I was there in june, and stayed at the Marriot Marquis Hotel. We also did all the typical sightseeing and caught a few broadway shows (Phantom of the Opera, Wicked, and Mary Poppins). The opening of the Lionel Store makes it even better! Cheese
So..... The Conventional Classics....... I thought they were supposed to be "Affordable replicas of postwar Lionel Trains"..... But obviously they arent. The first few issues were, but now the prices are just ridiculous. Sorry but the Lionel name is worth a few extra hundred bucks, so I'll stick to Williams and Bachmann stuff, even if some of it is slightly different. Lionel should follow MTH's example of trying to keep prices down, especially in these tough economic times. I understand
Hey All, Can anyone supply with with a pdf file, or scanned copy of the 1984 Model Railroader Article about the Southern's Murphy Branh and the Track Plan that went with it? Much Obliged, Cheese
In South Carolina it is legal to shoot and kill a person respassing on your property should you feel threatened. However this is not something I would reccommend, especially if the trespasser has political friends. The cameras and sprinklers would be a better way to go. Cheese
My my my thats quite a sum. Thanks everyone! Cheese
Hello, I am trying to find information on the LGB 24852 red mallet. I assume that it was some sort of limited edition model, and a google search has yeilded nothing of any real help so if any one knows anything, please assit! Yours, Cheese
I for one find this catalog to be a mixed blessing.Sure there really isn't much and I don't really agree with some of the production choices (The 613 UP Diesel set for one), and there really isn't much I want to get other than the 2343 Santa Fe F3's and the White Pass NW2 with the white pass caboose and ice breaker car. But the blessings are I won't be spending as much on trains this year (its my senior year in high school so thats a good thing, but I guess its always a good thing
No Layout, But I display some of my train items on my bookshelf. Lets begin from the bottom and work our way to the top. Bottom: Lionel Erie 4-6-4 Hudson (Nothing else on shelf) Next Row: An Atlantic Coast Line Athearn HO Scale Dining Car and an Athearn HO scale White Pass and Yukon Caboose (Bought in Skagway, Alaska). On this shelf are mostly paper back books, The Harry Potter Series (all hardback), as well as a leatherbound copy of "The Complete Sherlock Holmes", and two home-made Gold
My resolution is to actually build a layout. Not a large one, maybe 4x8 with a little shelf like extension around a control panel area A must have is a Lionel ZW transformer. That comes first before layout or anything. Some gargraves track to use and some ross or maybe if lionel switches. I definatly want a few more locomotives. Maybe a diesel or 2 and a steamer. I wouldn't say no to a Williams scale Hudson or a Lionel GG1. Cheese
Indeed. Cab rides are indeed wonderful things. I have ridden in the cab of the ex-White Pass mikados at Dollywood several times before, and those rides were wonderful. However, they no longer offer cab rides, and the tender seat was removed. However, they are veru friendly and will allow you to pose anywhere you want around and even on the locomotive. I have a few pictures taken of me on the pilot. My favorite is one taken last month at night. The steam was plentiful and in the photo you can barely
