Most folks who've done this cast a section at a time and hand carve the detail. Not many shortcuts I'm afraid, but very rewarding nevertheless. I use 3D Plan It all I do is draw a circle and the tangent (offset from the circle) and use the connect with easment tool...........

24" is awfully tight for an Allegheny. I doubt very much you'll get satisfactory performance.
Will they go around 18" curves? ;)
I'd say they'd even look silly on 30". 48" would be reasonable.
You gents with the Peco experience. Are you talking about Peco STREAMLINE (US Prototype) or regular PECO?
Two F3 ABA sets geared for passenger service were specifically purchased by NYC to be used on "The New England States". Never the 20th Century The 20th Century Limited during the late steam/ early diesel period was typically assigned Hudsons (earlier), or E7 locomotives. Here is what I plan on doing........... My pike in progress models the North Adams Branch of the B&A. I've picked a few LDE's (Layout Design Elements) and am selectively compressing them as necessary. I have a topographical map of the route.
