In my short furlough from the forum, I come back to see that just about all of the threads are being rated.... intresting. Also, hello to all my old friends!
I'm not sure what you are asking... Is it why there are different lengthes? If so, they are there for filling up any gaps in the track you could have.. such as those caused when you use long switches, which are longer than the primary track sections you are using. Most complex layouts require them in at least one place or so.
Very nice! Got to love things you do yourself!
[quote user="Lehigh Valley Railroader"] Does the New ZW have the ablility to start the engines slowly, if so then I would not need the " 6-14189 TPC 300 or TPC 400" is that correct? If that is the case and I end up buying a postwar ZW for $230 to $250 and this TPC 300 or 400 for $160 to $180 would I be better off just buying the new ZW? [quote user="martinden"] The brush plates are not an issue in distinguishng a 2333 from a 2343 -- early 2333s used the fiber brushplate with coil springs (which wre enclosed in cylindrical holders), but later 2333s had the black molded Bakelite brushplate with hairpin (V-shaped) springs, which Lionel then continued to use on the 2343s and 2353s (as well as many others).
