(Edited by selector- photos deleted in consideration of other viewers) I'll be going back there, It was very cool, and Alot of cool stuff. Now What I find weird Is that since i like conrail, I'm getting into CSX now... A confused railfan
If you have a 4x8 why do you need an IR/Radio Receiver? If you don't use that you can take that one off and your problem has been solved...more or less..
BLI made an EJ&E Switcher with sound. I dug around and couldn't find one sorry
At my N scale club I was able to run a 160 90 Ton hoppers, 4 engines, 3 on the front, and the fourth unit was 110 cars back. I probably could have done more but I was already tempting fate. that layout you can run huge trains as long as you have all your power evenly speed matched becuase as long as you have helpers it rarely stringlines.
Find a prototype you really like, Then look at the available space. Once you know what you want to model and how much space you have then you can choose what scale you will do it in. I personaly would love to model in 2 Rail O scale becuase of the size and how well everything can be detailed. How ever if I want to model in 2 Rail O I wouldn't be able to do much due to the amount of my space, 10x12. HO was my next choice, so I looked at possibly doing that, Again due to the space I couldn't
The CN Flint sub gets about 30 trains or so a day, And the CSX Saginaw Sub gets about 4 a day Those of you that aren't all boned up on Michigan history(Probably most of you no offense) The CN Flint sub runs East and West, Thats for former GTW Line through Flint(Not the old main, the new Main) Used to be really busy back in oh say, probably early 70's. Trains Ga-freaking-lore, we used to have a ton of business here too until GM started to pull out, Same goes for the CSX. They used to get a
Another great example of stored cars is the CSXT McGrew yard in Flint. The entire south end of the yard is full of 86' Boxcars, and the lead and exsisting track that went to Buick City is full of 86' Boxcars. My guess is that those where the cars that Served McGrew, and with the dwindling number of parts plants in the area(only 2 GM plants left in flint now SPO and Truck Assembly) CSX just shoved them all there to get them out of the way. Most of the those cars will sit there until their
My guess is they're all cars stored on a line thats not being used, the Great Lakes Central here in michigan is storing a bunch of LPG cars around Cheasing Michigan. CN is storing AOK Centerbeams in the Durand yard.
at the HO club I'm part of our longest block is 25ft, and the shortest being 15. I generally run on the loop that has the 25ft block, my HO grain train is usually two or three locos, and almost 40 50+ft Covered hoppers.
I have the same problem all the garage modelers have. I have time. I only about 20 hours a week so I have alot of free time. But due to the temperatures and the fact that I have no circulation in my layout area I don't do alot of work during the summer becuase its way to warm. Although now that I graduated from High school I will have plently of time to work on my layout this fall
