stem from the locomotive crews not being adequately instructed/schooled/trained in the nuances of 'Distributed Power' hook-ups/add-ons. When I hostled they just handed me a pamphlet and said "Qualified".. ABTH rules has it step by step to link up and unlink. But they neglect one status message that pops up and says clear pcs.You dont have to. You have to wait till the light goes out and hten continue. SO the first couple times it took me a bit

The hose hanger breaks, and the glad hand gets dragged all over the place, over crossing pads, the ballast, ties and turnouts....it can bet and bend the small edges that help hold the hands together, so when you try to lace the hose up, it will not stap hooked together with another one...I also have only had to change one hose, and for the same reason, it got the glad hand all chewed up. The only time I have ever taken a coupled hose
I never have uncoupled glad hands manually unless the gaskwt was bad and the air bleed off other wise its lift the cut leaver and highball. any other way is not railroading and the hoses are rubber they give and even dry rotted they do thier job. come to think of it i have never pulled a MU hoses off the engine and only replaced 1 due to glad hand that was damaged.
signal 1-2 are 2 headed signals and 3 is a single signal as is 6. move 4 down to the west end of the siding where 8 is and move 5 to the west of the diamond both would be 2 headed signals no need for 8. 7 is perfect and a 2 headed signal
Your ways work but with a twist things can change, in a traffic controll area this would be all absolutes but if it was hand throw switches then things change signal 1 and 3 are absolutes signal 4 would move east to protect trains on the main from trains out of siding and would be directly across from dwarf signal in siding. Signals 2-5-6 all would be 2 headed signals with number plates. the key is that the 2nd way is in a abs and tc controlled area, there is many ways to protect moves with out stopping

January to August 2009 train accident total is 1222.
Gee, that's only 153 per month, just over 5 per day . Keep up the good work, fellas! From the linked-to page: A train accident is an event involving ontrack rail equipment that results in monetary damage to the equipment and track above a certain threshold . Lading, clearing costs, environmental damage

Well that confuses me a little. According to NS departures and arrivals out of Pittsburgh it takes about a day to get to Chicago, two days to get to Kansas City and almost three days to get to New Jersey. Last I checked Jersey is the closes to Pittsburgh. Type O or how bad is traffic on NS's Harrisburg Division?
Please note the scheduled train routings listed for each destination. Origin: Pittsburgh, PA Gate Hours
hey sis the short answers are that yes rco are required to whistle signals like regular engineers but only for the perpose intended, First rule is when a train or engine is starting to move in yards or in switching it is to ring the bell to let others know its about to move, if crossing the bridge yes they should whistle off. As far as the compressor its abeen covered and as for the beans and corn or barley or wheat yes and no some are easier to smell than others
We are putting in 12 hours on the lead almost every day....from a roster that was 234 men we are now down to 124, with 3 set to give it up this month.
